What you’re passionate about
In regards to filmmaking, I am passionate about telling stories. Whether that be for a nonprofit or a documentary, hearing other's stories and being allowed to tell that story through film is an incredible opportunity I don't take lightly. Beyond filmmaking, I am passionate about education. I look for ways to support education through filmmaking as well as in our community.
Music played a huge role in my life growing up. I have a vivid memory of riding in the car with my dad around the age of three and singing Billy Joel's "For the Longest Time" from memory. My mom and dad made sure we were exposed to many different styles of music. Broadway musicals quickly became my favorite and I am pretty sure by the time I was 8 I had the entire double CD version of Les Misérables memorized. A particular musical theatre artist who inspires me is Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is the writer of the book, music, and lyrics for In the Heights and Hamilton. Every phrase and every word he writes in his shows have power and purpose. He is always looking for new ways to do things and never seems to settle for what is the status quo. I am inspired to try and apply the same qualities to my work.
Favorite place you've traveled to
I love to travel and it is a toss up as to which place is my favorite. My top three are NYC, Park City (Utah) and London. Each of these places have such an energy about them. Every time I leave I feel energized and inspired. As a side note, could someone open a proper Pub in Lakeland?
